Role

The International Property Damage Claims team consists of five people who work closely with the Domestic Property team, the Production team and the Finance department. All colleagues contribute to giving brokers and end-clients sound, tailored advice that meets their needs and answers their questions.

As an International Property Damage Claims Handler you will be in frequent contact with loss adjusters and you will regularly provide targeted feedback to colleagues and the department manager with a view to building a solid customer relationship.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day communications from brokers by e-mail, phone or post efficiently
  • Take a proactive approach to claim follow-up, ensuring a smooth financial settlement
  • Safeguard file quality by detecting potential problems
  • Enter data accurately in the claims system and keep it up to date
  • Give focussed feedback to colleagues and the department manager to foster strong client relationships

Our client is a Belgian insurance company that is part of a Dutch group. It specialises in insurance and services for the transport and logistics sector. The company mainly serves professional hauliers and offers solutions such as cargo insurance and liability cover. In addition, it aims to reduce risks and improve road safety through advice and prevention programmes.

Profile

As an International Property Damage Claims Handler you enjoy managing client files and sharing your expertise with direct colleagues.

You have/are:

  • native Dutch speaker with good French; English and German are assets
  • several years’ experience in handling Motor claims
  • professional bachelor’s degree in Law Practice or Finance & Insurance, or equivalent through relevant experience; willingness to keep learning about insurance is essential
  • solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
  • interest in or knowledge of cars, lorries and transport damage is a plus
  • familiarity with traffic regulations
  • a team player with strong oral and written communication skills
  • organised and methodical, focused on achieving objectives and results
  • stress-resistant and a reliable partner for brokers and clients
  • positive, enthusiastic and flexible
